ASEM/TFAP/SCA(Asia- European meeting/ Trade Facilitation Action Plan/ Standards and Conformity Assessment)

The Trade Facilitation Action Plan which covers seven priority areas including standards and conformity assessment (SCA) was agreed at 2nd ASEM (Asia- Europe meeting) ministerial meeting in April 1998 to facilitate the trade between Asia and Europe. Japan has been participating in the ASEM/TFAP on SCA meeting which discuss four main issues, which are (a)Best Regulatory Practice (BRP) ,which is the same idea of GRP in APEC, (b)alignment activities, (c)MRA and (d)Technical cooperation since 1st meeting in September 1998.
