Acceptance of trainees

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) accepts government officials, etc. from developing countries for training in Japan. JISC provides cooperation for courses covering standards and conformity assessment system such as development of international standards, product conformity assessments, and legal measurement systems, etc.

In the field of standards and conformity assessments, the following training courses are held in Japan (participants are recruited though governmental organizations of the countries involved):

ASEAN International Standard Development Course (since FY2004)

For the purpose of promoting ASEAN countries’ positive participation in ISO/IEC activities, training is provided for staff of government standardizing organizations of ASEAN countries so that they can acquire basic knowledge on ISO/IEC and enhance their capability for developing international standards.

Training Course on Production Certification (IEC/CB scheme) for ASEAN Countries (since FY2004)

For the purpose of promoting ASEAN countries’ positive participation in international conformity assessment system, training is provided for staff of government conformity assessment organizations of ASEAN countries so that they can gain an understanding of the product conformity assessment system operated by the IEC (CB Scheme), the international standards necessary for participation in the CB Scheme, and the technical details and testing skills based on international standards.

Asia-Pacific Legal Measurement Course (since FY2003)

Training is provided for staff of organizations engaged in measurement (conducted by the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology).
