Management system registration schemes are voluntary and operated in the private sector. JAB, TheJapan Accreditation Board for Conformity Assessment, assesses and accredits management systems registration bodies, auditor certification bodies and auditor training bodies. JAB is called an "Accreditation Body".
A registration body uses registered auditors to check the conformity of management systems of an organization or a company.
An auditor certification body evaluates auditors for management system who have completed a training course provided by an accredited auditor training body.
