Establishment of the Registration Scheme
On November 1, 1993, the Japan Accreditation Board for Conformity Assessment (at the time of establishment, the Japan Accreditation Board for Quality System Registration)(JAB) was established as an accreditation body. JAB conducts the operations concerning conformity assessment as below:
- accreditation and registration of registration bodies, personnel certification bodies' laboratories and so on,
- accreditation and registration of training bodies,
- registration of registered suppliers,
- promotion of mutual recognition,
- survey, research, propagation,
- others concerned
