The follow-up inspection for JIS Mark certified factories is performed by Designated Inspection Bodies. It will be initiated either in the form of a public announcement on the Official Gazette of inspection for factories in Japan or of a notification of inspection for factories overseas.
Each Designated Inspection Body performs an on-site inspection and reports its findings to the competent Minister. The competent Minister assesses the findings and then decides to re-confirm the status or to withdraw the authorization to affix JIS-mark of the factory.
