Designated / Approved Certification Body

With the amendment of Japanese Industrial Standardization Law, a designated JIS Mark Certification Body can issue JIS Mark Certificate. To be designated as a JIS Mark Certification Body, the applicant must submit an application to the competent Minister. In the cases where the competent Minister is the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, the applicant will be assessed and evaluated by JASC(Japan Accreditation System for Product Certification Bodies of JIS Mark), which is the accreditation system for JIS Mark Certification Bodies, on the basis of ISO/IEC Guide 65. JASC became a full member of PAC (The Pacific Accreditation Cooperation) in January 1999 and an accreditation body member of IAF (International Accreditation Forum Inc.) in September 2000.
