About the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) 1906 Award

@Created in 2004 by the IEC, a major international standards organization, the IEC 1906 Award honors IEC technical experts (individuals) recognized for their significant contributions to the standardization of electrical and electronic technology and related activities. The ceremony is held concurrently with the ceremony of METI Industrial Standardization Awards.

At this yearfs ceremony, held on October 15, a total of 154 individuals from around the world were recognized. Among them, Japan received 27 awards and was the third country with the largest number of recipients, following Germany and the United States.
